Years ago, the dedicated members of Iranian Jewish Center/Beth Hadassah Synagogue (IJC/BHS) had the foresight to acquire the three acres parcel of land situated across the street from the Synagogue with the hope that it would one day become the site of a vibrant community center. While circumstances have evolved over time, the organization has remained steadfast in its commitment to ensuring that the property ultimately serves the community’s collective benefit.
In that spirit, we are happy to announce that we have just sold the land to The Iranian American Jewish Federation of New York, at cost at favorable terms. This gesture reflects IJC/BHS's continued devotion in advancing shared communal goals and supporting the growth of institutions that enrich and unify the Iranian Jewish Community of Greater New York.
We are deeply grateful to our founding members and past leaders whose vision, sacrifice, and perseverance made the original acquisition possible. By passing this land forward at favorable terms, we honor their legacy and reaffirm our shared mission of community building.
Iranian Jewish Center/Beth Hadassah Synagogue extends its heartfelt appreciation to all those who have supported this effort over the years and looks forward to seeing the land fulfill the purpose for which it was originally envisioned — the creation of a thriving community center that will serve generations to come.
We have full confidence that The Iranian American Jewish Federation of New York possesses the leadership, experience, and dedication necessary to transform this long-held dream into a reality, creating a community center that will serve generations to come.
